The Bible tells us that the Garden of Eden was a magnificent paradise where everything that was needed was provided for. Fillmore invites us to see the mind as the Garden of Eden, ripe with potential, lush with possibilities.
Watching the Olympic athletes, I observe a great demonstration of the power of thought. The athletes deal with obstacles, barriers, illness and injury to move forward toward their visualization of winning an Olympic Gold Medal.
God’s greatest gift to us is the power of thought. As we nurture our thoughts and align them with the divine ideal of God’s Goodness, we open to remarkable possibilities in the world. The power of thought is a blessing.

When I was a child growing up in the Catholic Church, I understood Lent to be a time of suffering as a practice. Today I see it as a practice to give up suffering. As I turn within to do my spiritual work, I let go of those beliefs and emotions that cause suffering such as lack, separation, resentment and fear.
The altar is a symbol of turning our awareness to God. Whether you have a physical altar that reminds you of your faith or the symbolic altar of prayer and meditation, they are both places to let go and let God. And God has much greater plans and demonstrates greater results than we can ever imagine.

Being conscious of our thoughts is a lot easier said than done. I counted how many times I complained in an hour yesterday and lost count very quickly!
Our thoughts are like the sheep in the bible story. Our thoughts will wander, stray and sometimes blindly follow the flock (society). If we choose to think the highest thoughts we are always guided and blessed. The I AM keeps us connected to the highest aspirations of God’s Love. I AM Peace, I AM Love, I AM Joy. I AM Blessed!

Bible reading: John 15:1-8
I watched a talk show the other day and the host mentioned he wanted to ‘rub elbows’ with a well-known celebrity. We often want to rub elbows with the rich and famous. Spiritual practice is our way of rubbing elbows with God. By reading scripture, meditating and giving thanks we stay connected to the divine qualities of Love, Joy, Peace, Beauty and Abundance. That’s how God lives in us. The story of the vine and branches remind us that God lives in us and through us daily. It is up to us to stay connected and willing to receive.
When we stay centered in Divine ideas and ideals, we stay centered in God. We are open to the abundant attributes and blessings that God has to offer us. Have an abundant day!

Bible reading: Luke 7:1-17
Our words have power in the Universe. We know that but so often forget. We say things like I can’t, I’m tired, I’m broke. Pretty powerful statements.
By being conscious of our words we stay conscious in God. Our spiritual practice helps us remember to choose words that will enliven and enlighten us. Each word we say is a building block of faith. Each word helps to establish Truth in our consciousness.
Practice statements of faith today. Observe the results. Blessings to you.
